Legend has it that the only way to reach the Neflim isle is by help of the Ra'kekk. The tribe that keeps the violent Undrais from the shallows.
You would have to find them and then make peace with them enough for them to share their secrets with you, so you can go to the sanctuary.

I have been wanting to design a mermaid race for XM for almost forever, but it just didn't want to happen.
So this is the new aquatic like race. They are actually humans, but through ancient traditions they have managed to prolong their magic abilities and worked them into their mask making ritual. thus allowing them to transform, kinda selkie-ish/werebeast into these creatures.
They can stay underwater as long as they don't need food, to eat they must come on land and turn back into human. the mask takes care of their breathing needs.
They also tame some Undrais to keep as their pets and guardians and such.
They live pretty nomadic like on land. never settling in a specific place, and no buildings.
Their fur is always a warn colour.
and that is all I can think of right nows. ^^

When I first saw this, for some reason, I thought they were river spirits from "Spirited Away". They had a mystical feel about them, like they belonged to the water
