Halloween has always been my favourite occasion to celebrate, it's always full of fun and free candy (even if the candy stopped flowing free years ago) I've tried my best to do Halloween images every year since I enjoy it so much! etc etc etc
This year I want to do something with the new Ty-demon in all of her demonic-ness making it epic and nicely themed. I want to have it be gruesome, with a SH feel to it. I don't want to use the traditional Halloween symbols in it. [link] The sad part is that my mind is not flowing well with any good ideas for what I should draw.
Some input/suggestions would be lifesaving! <3

INPUT: Something you haven't done yet is ghosts. Maybe you could have a transparent ghost dragon with a full/harvest moon. Instead of the usual orange and black maybe you could go for a color scheme more white/blue and black. Maybe capture the aspect of halloween that no one sees, the point at which no one is trick-or-treating anymore, after the madness, when it is late and the spiritual nature of the holiday begins to take hold. Maybe show that halloween is a spiritual day for avians as well as humans. Yep, thats about all I got...
lol thank you. I never saw the movie. Hell, as a werewolf fan who extensively researched the myths in her library in middle school, I haven't seen too many wolf movies lol.. kinda sad lol...
Nah I haven't. I haven't heard much, for or against it. I wonder if this is the werewolf movie that they had a forum called 'the Pack' for hardcore werewolf fans to have input what werewolves were suppose to be like. Lets see.. The ones I did see was Hellsing, the two Underworlds and the Howling. I think I saw also a movie about WerePanthers too. For years I wanted to see Ginger Snaps 1 and 2 which is like a tween horror I think that's more gory then say Twilight. And I still haven't seen Werewolves in London or the original Wolfman. I did see this one though where the female werewolf doesn't shift til the very end (and of course she's a beautiful white wolf) and they were the type that only went to wolf, no inbetween. Kinda annoying, my mother is squeamish of monster movies. You can't even mention names of monsters around her.
Books though are numerous. German Folk lore, a compilation book of all type of medieval werewolf scriptures and poems, Werewolf the Apocalypse with some of their novels, Confessions of a Werewolf supermodel (Author died shortly after it was written), Alpha and Omega (not the retarded movie that came out) and some others. You know I ate Harry Potter 3 up lol.. Very much into the horror, mystery, surreal, fantasy genres. Though I know silver allergic reactions was fabricated by the first WolfMan movie and is not in the original mythology. Twas meant to give something pretty unstoppable a weakness other then wolfsbane which gives only a dislike I think? It's been years I read the Poem of how a man can turn into a werewolf besides a bite. It might be about the Wolfsbane.
WOW, you know your stuff! I haven't seen the proper werewolf in cinema yet. Van Helsing's were too big, Harry Potter's didn't have enough fur, both and the old and new wolfmen looked like angry elf-monkeys. I haven't seen Underworld yet (yes, the humiliation burns...) so I don't know what the deal is there. I admit that the all the designs have their merits, but I like HP's and Van Helsing's the best. So... my theory of the werewolf ideal is something between Van Helsing and Harry Potter.
The werewolves in Underworld at first aren't very werewolf recognizable. You can tell how low the budget was then. Actually, Underworld had a lawsuit against White Wolf because WW felt Underworld used their own scriptures for their creatures. Seriously, WW I found has a stick up their ass when it comes to bringing their stuff to movie media. It's probably why it's not as popular as DnD ya know? They suppress their fans a bit. What I don't like about Underworlds second movie was how fragile they made their wolves. There is a whole army of werewolves storming a castle; Most bad-ass scene I've ever seen with wolves and the vampires are just slicing right through them in half. Sure you could slice through a werewolf with enough force, but one of it's scary features is how fast it can regenerate. I don't think I was seeing much of that. Harry Potter's was scrawny. I was surprised that they changed it from the book though too. The werewolf was suppose to be a full dire wolf kinda form on all fours, not biped-digigrade. Another problem I faced was the lack of explanation of the relationship of Harry's father and his friends until they were shouting at each other incoherently that you couldn't understand anything! Van Helsing was smexy. Like I hated the first werewolf that appeared but Van helsing himself was a wonderful design.I also liked the sheading of fur but and I think they actually used the mythos of breaking out of human skin to reveal new skin and fur. Pretty hellish to witness lol... course problem with that version is how slow it makes transformation. Not cool when you're in a pinch lol..Plus they actually had tails. I know the old poems said the wolves didn't have tails or other classic signs such as pointed human ears and middle and ring fingers being the same size, but tails are just so essential for balance and communication. Though I totally agree, between the two.
If you want to make it like SH, you could probably add a misty background, with old and dirty buildings, maybe an alley. I'm also thinking about blood splattered on the walls and floor and... maybe the remains of a recently dead monster? I hope it helps!
