The noise is what drew him close, despite Ripha's protests. There on the edge of the flying grounds he stood looking at the huge black bird fly by screaming through it's feathers as it passed by.

He watched as it landed off a bit in the distance.
Ripha protested again that he should leave it alone, but he felt that he Must go see what this new creature is.

An assignment for school, aka an inspiration piece for a short film I plan to make

and Yes their designs are highly simplified in this image, because drawing them fully scaled with detailed feathers 720+ times seems very much not like something I want to do.

I love the simplistic style! The double-layered prairie/grassland in the background is a pretty sweet idea as well.

Seems like a pretty smart idea to simplify them if you're going to animate them. Plus, they didn't lose much from being simplified! Your sense of shape and design are spot on, and you can really get a feel for their personalities just from their stance and expressions. Great job.
