In the eastern borders of the Talean Territory lays a place not trodden by man. It is dangerous to be so close to the swamplands, so close to the Amsk. It is here that you will find the abundance of small creatures like the Kyet, a highly chatty creature, or maybe a Slayth, moistening their wings on a warm muggy day just after a storm. ------------ So this is a small speedpaint that I did that once again ended up becomming a full out illustration. All I wanted to do was see if I could make a beliveable Kyet. (since their design has been so difficult to nail down) I also wish that photoshop would stop defaulting to 72 dpi when I put in my size specifications, for even if I tell it 300, it goes back to 72, and it is ticking me off.
I really wish I could focus more lately, it is just a wierd feeling of misdirection, I want to work on something, but I can't stay on that one thing long enough. Specially homework, I really need to find a way to stay concentrative on homework. (putting things off isn't helping me)
So onto the Kyets... You prolly have seen several previous incarnations of them in my gallery before, they are one of my most illusive in terms of design. Not to mention that mixing an owl and squirrel to keep it looking somewhat logical is not the easiest of things.
And since I know that some people will ask...
YES
You can make a Kyet.
Just let me know when you are done. (the reason Avians are not available, is because they are EXTINCT)
Kyets come in several different colours and patterns. Black, white, cream, beige, brown, reds, and the occasional blue, are the colours they usually come in. They do not come in pinks, purples, other unnatural colours, and they don't have stars, hearts, or other human symbolism on them.
They are a social animal, they live in large families, usually lead by a older male. Since they have a small fascination with shiny things, it is not uncommon to find their nest from jewelry that has dropped and landed on lower branches. Yes they do come from eggs, the eggs are simple and small. Even though they are seen as pests and are the occasional prankster, they do make great pets. Often people will capture one and tame it. which is great because they can even learn to speak.
(Much to Kestryl's dismay with Paido since he never shuts up)
They live throughout most of the northern countries, close and far from man and his cities, and they eat pretty much anything they can find that will fit in their mouth.
Now if you have read this far, I commend you! Also when you leave a comment, use the mood option beside it (doesn't matter what mood) that way I know you have read this ^^
